What determines a vehicle’s “cost to own” score? This multi-factorial grade includes out-of-pocket expenses like fuel, insurance and vehicle deprecation. Kelley Blue Book calculates total ownership costs for new vehicles by applying a sophisticated valuation methodology along with critical financial data from third-party providers.

According to recent reports, Subaru plans to release a plug-in hybrid vehicle within the year. While speculation leans toward the new plug-in model being either a Subaru Crosstrek or a Subaru Forester, there’s not yet official word on what model the vehicle will be.
