Whatever Subaru just entered into the Baja 500 does not look like a Subaru Crosstrek in the slightest. Thanks to some pretty extensive weight reduction and traction improving efforts, this compact crossover looks more like the dirt-kicking creatures it went up against last month at this famous off-road race. But trust us -- there are Crosstrek underpinnings under there, including a SUBARU BOXER® engine.
This crazy Crosstrek embarked on the 515-mile race on June 3rd, thanks to a partnership with Grabowski Brothers Racing and Crawford Performance. While the Crosstrek didn't win, it certainly turned heads, and we're excited to see what the brand comes up with next year.
