When the Honda CR-V Faces the Subaru Outback Only one Vehicle Proves to be the Better Buy
It's a simple fact that Honda is one of the world's largest automakers. It builds some of the world's most popular vehicles, and the Honda CR-V is one of them. This crossover has been hugely popular with small families and active individuals over the past several years so it is no surprise to us when car shoppers come in to look at models like the new Outback and tell us they are considering the CR-V too.So how to the two cars stack up?
Well if we were to pop open the hoods and take a look inside, we would find that the Subaru is built standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that is good for 175 horsepower and 25/33 mpg (city/hwy). The CR-V is slightly more-powerful with a 2.4-liter engine that gets 185 horsepower and an impressive 27/34 mpg. The Outback is also offered with a 3.6-liter 256 horsepower engine for those who want a little extra oomph.

The Outback is built with standard AWD and uses a 6-speed CVT transmission while the CR-V holds a 2-speed CVT. The All-Wheel-Drive of the Subaru accounts for its small drop in efficiency, but it more than makes up for it with a stellar safety record and serious skills when it's time to drive in bad weather.
Of course price is the biggest factor for a lot of car buyers here in Madison, so we should say that the Outback is usually a couple thousand more expensive than the CR-V but even at its most-basic it is still better-equipped. Standard features include the All Weather Package, heated seats, mirrors, and wipers.
When you finally make a decision in the Outback VS. CR-V showdown, then please do some shopping in our0020new inventory section and then bring yourself over to the Don Miller Subaru West showroom. We would be happy to discuss your auto loan and lease options and even take you out for a test drive.
