The J.D. Power Residual Value Award is a prestigious award for vehicles that demonstrate great value across multiple categories. This year we’re happy to announce that not one but two Subaru vehicles have won this honor. The 2022 Subaru Forester and WRX won in their respective categories, and we couldn’t be happier.
How a Vehicle Wins
For a vehicle to be honored with this prize, it needs to be carefully examined in a number of areas. Judges look at things like a vehicle’s used-vehicle performance, brand outlook, and product competitiveness, as well as 26 other categories. During this year’s assessment, there were 284 models being judged, and in the end, J.D Power awarded the 2022 Subaru Forester as the Best Compact Utility Vehicle and the WRX as the Best Sports Car.

Subaru Forester
As a rugged SUV, the 2022 Subaru Forester is available in six trims and comes equipped with a 2.5-liter 182 horsepower four-cylinder engine. Introduced for the 2022 model is the Wilderness trim. As a fifth-generation Forester to receive a Wilderness trim, this model has a redesigned front panel and new amenities and safety features.
Subaru WRX
When it comes to the 2022 WRX, this rally car comes outfitted with a new turbocharged 2.4-liter 271 horsepower Subaru BOXER engine and is paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a new automatic transmission. Along with the most advanced features and performance out of any Subaru, the WRX delivers a driving experience like no other.
