Its redesigned exterior adopts a taller profile and more traditional SUV-inspired styling, while the extensively updated cabin offers additional passenger and cargo space, upgraded materials, new technology, and a more modern overall layout.

The 2026 Outback gives buyers a choice between two SUBARU BOXER® four-cylinder engines. Most trims feature a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine that produces 180 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. XT and Wilderness models step up to a turbocharged 2.4-liter BOXER® engine generating 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
Every model also comes standard with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and Subaru X-MODE®, providing added traction and confidence for changing road conditions around Fitchburg or wintry commutes in Verona.
How efficient is the Subaru Outback?
