The Outback and the Forester are two of the longest-running and most popular models in Subaru's lineup. At first glance, they appear very similar. Each offers rugged style, an engaging driving experience, and significant capability away from the asphalt. They also both come standard with Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive system, smartphone integration, and the EyeSight suite of driver-assistance technologies. However, there are a few significant differences to consider when deciding which one best fits your needs.

Despite their similar aesthetics, the Outback is 1.5 inches wider and 9.2 inches longer, while the Forester is about 2 inches taller.
