Facial Recognition Technology Coming with the 2019 Subaru Forester!

The march of technological advancement is always moving forward, folks, and that's just as true when it comes to automotive technology as well. Case in point: in case you didn't hear the news, the upcoming 2019 Subaru Forester is going to include facial recognition technology! This feature will improve both safety as well as convenience, and we're on the edge of our seats in anticipation of its arrival.

This facial recognition technology is called DriverFocus and utilizes a small infra-red camera on the dashboard paired with the two Subaru EyeSight camera. It scans and recognizes your face by a number of aspects - such as the spacing between your eyes and nose, mouth, et cetera - and can determine if you're fatigued or inattentive, giving you an audible alarm or even employing automatic emergency braking if necessary. More than just for your safety, it can also recognize and remember up to five drivers and automatically adjust seating and mirror positions to your set specifications. It can even recognize you through sunglasses, so you don't have to worry about sunny days ruining your ride.

We're expecting the 2019 Forester to arrive sometime in the autumn of this year, so keep your eye out for its arrival and more details in the future. For now, we'd love to show you everything the current 2018 Subaru Forester has to offer, so come visit us here at our Madison, WI location at your earliest convenience. We hope to see you soon!
